Hi there, this is a 3 part travel diary taken from the 1st of November to the 5th of November 2019. My friend and i flew into Naples on the morning of the 1st which was also All Saints Day in Italy. We were anticipating delays in transport however, we planned and booked well in advance and we were ok. We booked a taxi using https://www.naples-airport-taxi.com/ from the airport to Herculaneum archaeological site (https://www.rome.net/herculaneum). The taxi ride took around 20 minutes and cost us €50. From Herculaneum, we walked up to the train station to board the Campania Express train. (https://tinyurl.com/r9pd3qn) and pre booked our seats a few weeks prior to our trip. We then travelled to Sorrento and stayed in a apartment near the centre as a base for the 4 days.
On our 2nd day, as a treat, we decided to spend a night in Positano…the BEST decision we made, it was absolutely beautiful! We stayed in a lovely hotel called https://www.reginellahotel.it/en/. It cost us €120 for one night b&b for up to 3 people. The views were breath-taking from our balcony (see thumbnail pic). We took a Sita bus from Sorrento to Positano and it took around 40 minutes. Day 3, we headed back to Sorrento by Sita Bus. It was a very dark and rainy day so we spent a lot of time in cafes and people watching in Tasso square.
Day 4, we spent the day in Sorrento. We had planned to go to Capri for the day, however when we arrived at Marina Piccola there were signs saying all boats/ferries were cancelled due to bad sea conditions.
